What is that leftmost notification icon for? It's been bugging me all day.

GPS E911 Only: E911 location is active (cannot be turned off).

And

GPS Location Active: One or more GPS location services are active.

I'm surprised there's not a menu somewhere to choose what icons will and will not display. Please let there be an app for this soon?

Rooted phone will be the only way I know of getting rid of it... At least that's the case with my N2...it's a definite eye sore

Thanks. I never saw location services have a notification, so I was baffled when I couldn't find anything on that was on but not accounted for. Although now that you mention it, it would be nice to not display certain icons, especially something like E911!

Yup.. I don't like icons clogging up my status bar.. I don't even show a clock on my phone... Haha
Just like that annoying wifi notification the N2 shows in dropdown area.. Got rid of them all..
