Running Android 2.2

Phone is rooted

All MP3/WMA ringtones, notifications now play default system tone instead of MP3 sound file.

Default Music player says cannnot play file type when trying to acces mp3/WMA files (all files but .ogg files) from Root exployer.

Its like my music player decided it can't play any files except the system .ogg files and now anywhere the system needs to play a different file type for notification or ringtone it defaults to default .ogg tone.

All sound files work fine on Power Amp Music Player App.

Any Idea why? I don't think this has anything to do with the Froyo 2.2 update. However, only posts online I've seen so far that seem to be the same problem talk about it happening right after the Froyo update.

My Droid X is doing the same thing. I need to reboot about once per week.

I have also had this problem with my new X. I have made and set several ringtones via RingDroid app, but the phone seems to default back to original tones after several hours. The music player also tells me it doesn't support the file type.
A reboot fixes the problem, but, so far, only temporarily.
