What causes the DROID to become slow?

Any ideas what causes the droid to become slow. Mine seems a tad slower (opening menu, launching apps, etc) from when I first got it. Maybe have 10 apps installed. Are apps the main source for slowdowns?

Lots Runnning

Alot running at once. While the Droid will allocate memory as needed. I find advanced task Killer a good tool

When you click on the bottom center to bring up the app menu, is it instantaneous for you, or is there a pause/lag?
