Have you tried Play Newsstand??? It is very similar other news readers like Pulse. I used to use Pulse but to use it now you have to log in with LinkedIn. Which I have no idea what that even is.

Nope don't even know what it is . LOL . On the S5 I used Flipbook for a while . Is Play Newstand Like that ?

Somehow I have lost the "notification numbers" that appeared in the two pointed out icons when I got emails or texts. I don't know if it was because of some kind of update, or the 4362 :) apps I have disabled, or what??
I have double checked the setting as best I can......any ideas appreciated.

First phone I disabled alot of stuff and the thing did indeed "misbehave"
I've left this one alone and it is lightning fast and the battery is fine.

Can anyone definitively detail what are the benefits of disablements? I think I experienced the opposite. Wish the stuff wasn't there, I hate having stuff I will never use but ......

My current disabled list. No issues at all.

I like to mess around and see how much I can delete w/o ill effects. I don't want anymore icons on desktop than necessary.

I think you can remove the icons and leave the app "abled" perhaps that is a win-win

I miss-spoke here - I took them all off the desk top. Is is the app screen, or whatever you call it, that I like to de-clutter.
Quite frequently my actions cause me more trouble than good......but I never stop messing with things.

Many launchers give you the ability to hide apps in the app tray without actually disabling or completely removing them. Some also allow you to create app folders in the app tray.
