The MotoFail app is supposed to be able to root just about any Motorola Android phone.... Has anyone here tried it?

This article talks about it:
Easily Root your DROID 4 & 3, RAZR, RAZR MAXX, and BIONIC

And here's the link to the actual program:
http://vulnfactory.org/public/motofail_windows.zip
From what I gather, none of the existing methods will work. The latest update "fixed" the vulnerability that allowed us to gain root access. I'm hoping someone can figure out a new method soon.

What I had to do to regain root rights was to:
1) flash back down to 4.6.8. Youtube will help here.
2) root
3) download voodoo OTA rootkeeper and backup the root
4) Update
5)Open up VooDoo and reinstate the root

Following the youtube video made the process pretty easy.

Best 'o luck to y'all

Forgot to mention that this process worked on Droid Pro. I would assume that it would work on any device that has been rooted previously.

I thank you for the info, only I can't figure out how to flash back to a previous version, even with youtube. Any one able to tell me how to do that or to link me to a video. I have a droid3 I would love to re-root

Hey guys, I'm really perplexed. I rooted my Pro when I was on 4.6.8, and installed OTA Rootkeeper and backed up my root, but when I tried to restore it, it put Superuser.apk back, but was unable to grant me su permissions, so it was a total bust. I'm going to sbf back to 4.6.8 and try again. Anyone else have this process fail?

EDIT: Well, the second SBF was no dice, I think the 4.7.3 update was bad, because it failed, and then com.android.phone would force close every couple seconds. I'm back on rooted 4.6.8. Tried to install via installing an update.zip from sdcard, and it looks like there is something messed up with the build.prop.

Code:
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "cdma_venus2" ||    getprop("ro.build.product") == "cdma_venus2"
And then it aborted with a status 7
