Okay, that's just weird. But I'm REALLY glad it's working again.

Let's try something else. Since we know restore works, let's try installing the ROM with only a /data wipe. If it doesn't work then we know your phone doesn't like CM. We'll have to try a different kernel or a different ROM. Or we could say "enough is enough" for the night.

We know we have a working backup, so that means we can try pretty much anything. I'd say let's try a stripped-down ROM. Let's see if we can get this puppy running for you. If so there's hope! If not, well, we may have to see if Pete Alphonso's "stock" Gingerbread ROM will work for you.

That's NOT an update.zip, but it should install fine. Do only a /data wipe from the install menu. Install should otherwise be identical.

Hmm. Your phone may not like CM. It also may have been the kernel, or a bad download, or any number of things.

Why don't you try Baseline there overnight/tomorrow and if you want to swap off it I'll see what I can do to help you out. It's stripped-down, but you should be able to install whatever's missing from the Market.

Did it ask you to reactivate the Droid?

You're welcome. I hope you like the new ROM. If not, well, we'll get whatever you WILL like on there, even if we have to replace recovery again. I hope not -- RZ Recovery is the best one I've used -- but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
