Wall-E=Droid Ad Campaign?

Has anyone else noticed that the center of the auto-pilot from wall-e is really similar to the droid logo?

Also,

• the voice bears some similarity to the droid notification.
• the robot hand that punches in a code to unlock eve is similar to the one in droid adds.

I did some searching for additional images and found that many thought the auto-pilot was inspired by Hal.

Go figure!
