Voicemail icon removal

I have a backup Droid Razr that has the status bar icon for a voicemail showing. This phone is not active on any line so I can't call the voicemail to clear the icon. How can I clear it without having to activate the phone or doing a FDR?

Had same issue: Found this: Settings/Apps/All/Phone/Clear data. It worked.
