Voice search not working

So I noticed this was doing this on my droid to and i went to my settings, then wireless and networks and make sure that you have your airplane mode unchecked and the wi-fi checked. Once I did that with mine the voice search started to work again.Somehow the aiplane mode got turned on and wi-fi got turned on. Hopefully that's the same problem that everyone else had been having.

Longtime lurker, first time poster. Anyway, just bought my Moto Droid about a month or so ago. I just started having issues with my Voice Commands, whether that's in the new Speech to Text for any text box with the 2.1 update, or whether that's just with the regular Google Search. It cannot connect via Wifi, it has limited connectivity in 3G, and after I use it, it freezes up the Droid to the point where I have to do a battery pull.

I manually updated to 2.1 yesterday, and I really hope this is not what is screwing my phone up.

Any suggestions?
