For me having the original characters in sequels is pretty important. It really takes away from it for me. But I think it should still be a good movie

I'm with you guys. I hope Will at least makes a cameo, but if he doesn't, I hope they have a good enough reason for why we don't see him baked into the story. Don't just pretend he didn't exist in the first movie, but don't cop out with some lame reason why he's not here now.

From what I heard the studios did everything they could to get Will Smith back except kiss his back side, which was what the artist wanted. I am a fan of some of Will Smith's movie and look forward to seeing him as Deadshot in Suicide Squad, but I agree with the studio. They had a movie to make and they wanted to bring Will Smith back but he felt like he was calling shots and wanted a role for his son as well as more input and money. In the end you can not allow one person to feel like they are bigger than a movie, especially not this day and age when they are finding stars from all over.

I actually hope this movie ends up being a summer blockbuster despite Will Smith not being involved. I'm not saying the studios always have it right but in this case I am siding with the studio.
