Verizon will replace your X2 with a Droid 3

Just a little heads up to you guys. I called Verizon and complained about my phone, said I was on my 3rd device and it was still defective. I said I wanted to switch to a different one and they were very helpful. At first they told me they could give me the incredible 2, but they were out of the battery so I asked about the droid 3. I now have a droid 3 on the way. All I did was call, be polite and tell them my frustration. Its worth a shot. They didn't even touch my upgrade date for this exchange.

Why do I want the D3 again?

There's plenty of people on this board who are experiencing a number of issues with the X2. The option is there (from Verizon) to switch to a D3.

I actually had a D3 at first, switched to the X2 within my 14 day exchange period but here I am 3 months later with a D3 again. The D3 is just an all around better phone, quicker, better supported by Moto and on a newer version of Blur with the hardware accelerated launcher which helps make the phone snappier and reduce redraws. If you can stand the extra thickness because of the keyboard, the D3 wins hands-down.

Ive had 4 or 5 DX2 phones. Looking at getting one of the new 3 that VZW has now and pass this X2 on. I had the OGD, did like it, but never used the keyboard, hated that. I would love to get the Nexus, but with no SD card, and how many times I have had to change phones in the past (not just with the X2) its a deal breaker.

I would just exchange it for the D3 anyway. The keyboard on the D3 is vastly improved over the D1, I would say that it's on the same level as blackberry keyboards now.

Did you have to pay the replacement fee? if not this could be worth a try.
