Verizon sucks for text messaging

Anyone else have problems with text messaging? Every time I travel to Reno -- and then out to Fallon -- I loose the ability to send texts. I can still receive them, but I can't send them... except to other verizon phones.

Drives me nuts!

Been talking to tech support... they want me to hard-reset my phone. But the problem ONLY occurs when I'm in Reno/Fallon NV.

Any ideas?

I've use GVoice to send my texts. Works like a champ.

Does that mean re-registering via "*228"?? I've tried that ...

I've spent more than 40 min on line with 2nd tier customer support ... no help.

Ok figured it out...

While I can send texts to numbers starting with "+1" here in PHX, it doesn't work from Reno. Once I removed the country prefix all those numbers my texts started going through.
