Exactly. With the thunderbolt most likely launching no later than february, and the evo shift 4g launching half way through next month(check bgr) these chipsets have been in htc's r&d department for months. They are ready. And the desire hd launched before they were ready, which explains why it got the upgraded single core. If I'm wrong about this one I will be surprised to say the least.

If this thing isn't dual-core I will be quite frankly extremely disappointed in HTC's R&D department for taking so damn long.

I just checked the snapdragon wiki too. The 8660 is right on time, but the 8655 is also compatible with the verizon spectrum. It is old tho, so no sure why they would put that in their newest handset. Still looks like the 8660 is our prime candidate for te thunderbolt. Either way Thursday is the day!!:icon_ banana:
