Now that the Verizon HTC One has S-Off and an Unlocked bootloader we are free to flash a custom recovery. Custom recoveries allow us to fully backup our phones and also run custom firmware and mods on our devices. Developer "invisiblek" has released an unofficial build of CWM Recovery for the Verizon HTC One M8. You will need to be familiar with adb in order to flash this recovery. If you have S-Off on your device then this shouldn't be an issue. Method for installing is as follows.
Boot your device into fastboot mode (adb reboot bootloader)
Install the recovery image (fastboot flash recovery cwm_6.0.4.7_m8vzw.img
You can then either reboot into Android with command (fastboot reboot) or you can use the menu within the bootloader to reboot. Head to the source link below to download the necessary file.
