Verizon contract upgrade weirdness

Was going to Upgrade my wife's phone and Vzw said she could convert from edge 3 months before old fashioned contact would end but didn't do it as would have to swap old phone for new plus add device fee then decided to wait until contract up and then could add edge and trade old phone towards lowering edge fee or monthly credit which is better?

The average person, myself included, puts their old phone in a drawer never to be seen again. So trading it in to be eligible to get a new phone before contract ends is not a bad thing. It's all in how you use your phones. Either option will equal the same monthly price, but make a decision soon because the early Edge option comes and goes like gas prices

Early edge isn't as good as paying the balance on edge when your phone is valued more and then getting the extra as a bonus Verizon gift card or bill credit

I don't work for Verizon and am not affiliated with any cell carrier or hardware or software maker. Just musing on the upgrade madness and posting whstvi noticed and looking to see if anybody has seen similar weirdness
