As I type this my Dinc is downloading the new 2.2 Froyo update....finally. For the record I'm in Cleveland if there doing this by location and naturally with verizon.

Just rebooted on its own...new start up screen..and it talks to you and says DRIOD when it boots....very cool

wish someone was so generous to just stop from like 5 minutes when they see the update and snatch it from the memory and post it up.

I wonder what the formula is for rolling out 2.2 Date of service vs location, vs area code vs ziip code. Are there any insights to this. Just curious as I wait in MN

Well I have had my Incredible since day one "initiall release", got my Froyo 2.2 update 8/28/10 at 11:30AM, was on the forum at the time, so I said let me go check my phone and lo and behold there it was on the home screen with the update button highlighted, telling me it's time my friend:), sweetness, it felt like getting the Incredible all over again.

Now about Froyo 2.2, it is sweet, phone is noticably faster, smoother operations with all apps, Flashlight app rocks, new text format is also sweet, Flash 10.1 is fantastic" yes Steve Jobs" it works on smartphones, the droid bootup screen instead of the Verizon logo is much sweeter, they also added in Live Wallpapers the scrolling lines originally introduced only on the HTC Nexus One, landscap mode now works in both directions, more to come, but from the looks of it, everyone should have it by next Friday, more rollouts going on a daily basis.

I don't know why people insist on telling us where they are when they haven't gotten an update. Location has NOTHING to do with it. Unless you aren't in VZW service. Then it would make a difference.

The only changes I see are the 720p camcorder..which just came in time for my class reunion last night...and the fancy start up screen.I thought there was a flash upgrade but I went on HULU and still cant view the video's.
As far as battery life..i see no change at all.

just found the flashlight app...way too cool. Its not like the one I downloaded from the app store that lights up the screen..this one turns on the camera L.E.D's light a real flashlight..and it has multiple settings for brightness.
