Update version 2.2 for Galaxy S - Fascinate

To: MKKH10

I doubt it. Gross incompetence in both, Verizon and Samsung. I can't wait to see how Apple and Verizon ruin the iPhone. I hate to be a pessimist but I've been dealing with this kind of crap since I got my first BB Storm. I knew not to trust Samsung and certainly knew Verizon can't be counted on. I guess it's time to root. Too bad a stock phone can't do what it should do without hacking.
Thanks Verizon!

That's why Apple isn't allowing Verizon to put anything on the phone... and the updates will be over iTunes, not OTA...

Me too, but Motorola needs Verizon... Verizon needs Apple.

I hate to do it but if moto locks their bootloader and samsung and vzw keeps fcking up updates I may as well get a iphone5 when it comes out!!!

I'm thinking about the iPhone 5 too but I swap batteries a lot in my Fascinate. I'm not happy with my first Droid experience, thanks to this update snafu.

Well iPhone has much better battery life than android. Running code thru VM is more CPU and therefore more battery intensive.

That's good to know. My wife will have her iPhone a few months before I get mine so I'll have an idea if it'll be a good device or not. I do keep my iPod in a dock charger all of the time. The phone could be too I guess.

Full Flash and a faster O/S. That's about the gist of it. I had an Incredible prior to the Fascinate and went from 2.1 to 2.2 and the phone was noticeably faster and smoother. The update for the DI was even "on time"! Goooooo HTC!

My favorite 2.2 feature is that the calendar defaults to goggle calendar instead of the internal my calendar and there are more options for notification times. Simple but important.

The Fascinate only has 2GB internal memory vs the HTC Evo's 8 GB. A real advantage to Froyo is the ability to shift the apps to the SD card, leaving the 2 GB internal memory open for operating system operations, hence more speed!!

Now that the GPS us fixed I am looking forward to flash support and apps2sd. I can be patient for 2.2 as long as we do get it. I just want to see all the negative posts stop once we get it but I expect there will be new things to complain about once 2.2 gets released. If you don't like your phone why did you buy it? Next time I suggest buying a phone that has the current update. If you were promised the update than I also suggest not buying anything from salesmen because they will tell you anything to get a sale. Do some research on your own and don't believe everything you see or read.
