Update version 2.2 for Galaxy S - Fascinate

Why are you blaming Samsung and not Verizon? Do remember big red has to add their bloatware and all the other crap before we get it

We're all touchy on the subject it seems but after rooting and everything else, I could care less about when froyo comes.

I haven't rooted yet. I previously had a Droid Eris rooted with froyo and I loved it. Pros and cons or best to wait if we get 2.2?

I"ve been readng this thread since November and its a bit redundant. Instead asking the question again, can someone link me a zip for 2.2 for a manual install? I saw two people referring to it being done on their phones successfully.

Oh, and I might add one thing you all seemed to miss. Google this: "SGH-i520" It has to be the real reason of delay for us. It looks to be the fascinate2, rumored Q3 2011. It having 2.2 makes me doubt the Q3 part, I'm praying for Q1

Until then, I'll be happy with a manual install if it is out there.


EDIT: The phone I mentioned is referenced elsewhere on this site, but not in the forums. Its all over other sites as well.

If you really read this you would already have had 4 instances of your root for froyo. If you refer to the title of the thread and the post, it's the fascinate not newer samsungs and update not root. We're all anxious about 2.2 but thank you for your post that was irrelevant. It would have been good on a new title.

I rooted fine. Used a one click root from somewhere I can't remember but I bookmarked on PC. I was looking for files I could force 2.2 on myself.

Might not be a "one click"

I installed a driver, set some debug mode on phone, and hooked up USB cable.. and some Batch file script did all the programming for me. Heres the link.
