Update version 2.2 for Galaxy S - Fascinate

The part where it says the Droid X is still on 2.1, if you look it says it will get Adobe flash by the end of summer 2010. Which is exactly when it got it, end of summer is September. Fingers double crossed.

I believe the "year end" from all the set backs and agony for the past couple of months. Lets see the end of the year roll around and all of you supporters in this post please post ASAP when you receive and comments of how it works with your phones. Also, as this thread was implied. We will keep posting rumors and predictions like the past to support everyone with the great information everyone has given.

Talked with Verizon on the 23rd as I have a custom app requiring 2.2. They first said it was rolling out now then later in the conversation she said that once it is rolling I could go to the Verizon store and they could update it there. I said since it is rolling now I could get it and she contacted Samsung who said it was rolling out now but not in the US markets yet. "Very soon" is how the conversation ended but once it starts it can b gotten ota at some point or at the Verizon store. This is all I can add to this thread.

Again sorry to sound so negative but this just sounds like the same old story. As some of you might have recent purchased your Samsung Fascinates, I have had mine since it was released. And it is just the same old song, "the update will be released in a couple of weeks" or "the update will be released next month". The folks that own HTC and Motorola phones are asking for the 2.3 update while the Samsung owners would be tickled to get updated to 2.2.

No other phone is getting gingerbread in the near future. Many people have bragging rights towards being closer but the fact is, Google's and Samsung's decision was than no phone will get gingerbread soon so it wouldn't hinder the nexus s. Google would not let their own flagship wont be shooting itself in the foot.

And exactly how does that slow down the 2.2 update for the Samsung Fascinate? Really Samsung does not have a good excuse for why it has taken so long to get this update out.

Because the galaxy s model is world wide and also the fascinate name is used in different countries and the true release date for the first countries to receive then was in September. Misinterpreted rumors were made this whole time and adobe saying flash will make it to Samsung fascinate in the U.S. seems to be the real date. End of year. Another thing said everyone makes mistakes a release date in the wrong country because there is over 10 million of these in just 6 months it was going to be in waves. We all are skeptical but any date keeps us going for our phones.

So basically it has been all fiction.

And Samsung has manged to get themselves a bad rep for taking so long to get the update pushed out.
