I ordered a bionic a few days ago with my 2 year uograde but I still do not see how I am getting a bargain by staying with verizion, I don't think they throw anything in to make me want to come back.
I did not want a contract this time and the full price of these phones stink, there was all most a $200.00 difference from Bionic to Iphone, what does the Iphone have that makes it that much better of a phone than a bionic.
,if it was just me I would get a pay as you go type phone, but I got 4 lines for my family.
I just think it's getting out of hand.

Agreed, but what are you gonna do, it seems to me that the companies with the nicer phones can usually get away with charging pretty much whatever they want

There was a thread like this last week, but yes VZW knows what the customers want and they know no matter what they charge they will get customers.

if it really is too much for you, you could try sprint or t-mobile, they have fairly good plans, but as for phones/coverage/customer service, I don't know if they provide the same.

It is pricey, but I'm more than happy being a VZW customer.

I will say that when I move within the next year, I'm going to a cheaper regional carrier with 3G. I'm tired of the outrageous prices, also, and my bill is still cheaper than most.

I noticed that the iphones never go on sale because of the demand..wait untill a black friday sale i got my android for free last year because of a sale and people that use an iphone before and switched to an android said they liked the android better.

Apple products never go on sale because that's how Apple wants it. They are a price protected brand so they set the price and it's the same everywhere.

yup

usually instead of dropping in price, retailers throw in an extra accessory or two.

I will start off by saying I agree that Verizon wireless service is pricey and some devices, especially when first introduced are very pricey. This a the result of a free-market system. The market helps to drive the price points. Look at the Bionic, at $299.00, places sold out of their small inventory in minutes, and continue to sell out their daily inventory within minutes of receiving that days shipment. That shows me that for many people the Bionic is worth the price. Now had their been a major boycott of this device, you would see the price drop very quickly.

Even the Droid 3 at $199 the Verizon stores cannot keep in stock, and there is a back-order/delay in online ordering. However, this is acerbated by BOGO when ordering online. Again, the demand shows, that $199 is acceptable pricing to the market.

I wish the forum members would stop complaining/whining about about the price of devices and service. Everyone has choices, on their carrier and within carrier, the individual devices. You made a decision on the carrier and device. They did not force you to sign with them

Everyone needs to 'choose' their carrier and phone based on many personal factors, such as location, cost, device, contract length, etc. What I determine is best for me most likely is not what is best for you.

The same can be said about many things, such as cars. I would love a high-end luxury car. However due to purchase cost, additional insurance costs, personal property taxes, etc., I have a more 'common' mid-range car. And remember, when you buy a car, some replacement parts are 'dealer/manufacturer only' items so you are stuck with that dealer/manufacturer. I also see this is other commodity items, such as PCs, Major appliances, TV's, insurance policies, etc.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I usually just go with whatever is the hottest out at the time of my upgrade. If something new is bout to come out n I like it I would probably wait

I agree with a pp, stop shingle. VZW is a business and offers a service. You have ATT, tmo, Sprint, or any regional or mvno provider. No one forces VZW on you. I want cheaper, but I'm ok paying for it because I want better service and coverage. I came to VZW from elsewhere because the other carrier was junk.

Sent from someplace, and with something that you need not worry about.
