Unroot to update

Hey all,
I got a droid 2 for christmas and right away I rooted with z4root. My question is do I need to unroot before I do any updates?

You want have to worry about that for awhile and no you will just loose root when you update unless you load roms so I suggest make a backup of your phone now with the stock rom and dont delete it (like I did like a smart guy) and when a update comes around you can go into recovery and restore back to the backup and update with no problem
