Unroot Help!

Folks,
I just received a note from my corporate email that my phone has been identified as a rooted device. I used Razrs Edge to root. However all the instructions that I have found to unroot also seem to erase phone. I am just looking for a way to unroot only. I want to make one last TiBu and then unroot no erase.
What are the options?

You mean your company's IT department identified it somehow? Are they telling you that you have to unroot it per company policy or what?

How could they find out your rooted? I've only come across this once before and that was when I was trying watch a movie in Google Play. It wouldn't let me because it had detected I was rooted. ( i always figured it was the superuser app that gave it away).

There are commercial security tools that can identify modified phones, including Oracle Identity Management 11g R2.

Whether you like, agree with it or not, IT sees rooting as a risk that potentially puts corporate data at a greater potential for theft, leakage, etc. there are several companies that provide tools for the corporate it department to do root detection. Of course there are also tools that try to bypass root detection, continuing the cat and mouse chase.

Not sure if it works with ics root but voodoo root ota root keeper may be able used to turn root on or off. Can find it in the market.

I used sarge's fxz that is stickied at the top of this forum to unroot my 902 before accepting the ota 905. It didn't erase my data. The only problem I had was trying to understand sarge's description and instructions. Unfortunately, his written statements lack proper grammar and punctuation making it difficult to fully understand what he has written without rereading several times. However, the method worked for me. Good luck.

What do you mean 'Voodoo doesn't work'? What exactly happens?
If I use Voodoo and use the "Temp Unroot" button. Then go into a few apps that I have that don't fully function if the phone is rooted. Both the apps still report that the phone is Rooted.

I don't want to fxz my phone that is the whole problem.

you just answered yourself in a round about way....residue from root is left behind no matter how you remove SU and ascociated apps.. now i dont know how or what development the IT department at your work has...and what email app you use...if its the moto email app then it all ties in with moto blur..

on a side note...are they just saying that your rooted and you need to remove it or are they saying btw we are watching you:blink:
