I am searching for a way to recover my old phone's data and well... it still has a pin code which I don't remember anymore (used that phone 2-3 years ago), so I was searching for a way to get past the pin. The only 2 solutions I found were:
1. Factory reset, which is not a solution for me because I want to get the old data.
2. Android Device Manager, which is somehow not working for me.
Online I saw pictures and videos where they would just be able to set a temporary password / pin after choosing "Lock", but the only thing I can do is setting a message and leaving my number there which is... not very much of a help.
So my question is, what am I doing wrong? Did they change the service so you can no longer set a temporary password? Are there any other means of getting to my data, other than being able to try 5 combinations every 30 seconds?
