Unlike other phones... when text comes in, vibrates but doesn't light screen?

Hi all,

Just wondering if this is normal....

I am wondering if when I get a text message, the phone will vibrate but will not illuminate the screen?

My Droid 3, when a text came in the screen would light up.

Yes it's normal I ended up using a third party sms (Go sms) now I get vibrate options and the screen lights up.

I just uninstalled GO SMS because it was having funny behavior when it came to sending pics for some reason. On my normal SMS app my pics go through without a hitch. But yes, I was wondering the same thing about the screen lighting up. At least there is that trust LED.

I have the same issues with Go, it's come to the point where I use the stock messager for pics and Go for text and notifications.
