Ok. I'm pretty sure that this has been asked before, but what do I do next after rooting my phone. I'm totally new to the android family and am lost. All help is appreciated. Thanks a bunch!

Welcome to the Forum.

After you root you can install custom Roms, which are modified versions of the OS. You can also install themes and certain apps such as wifi tether which require root permission to work.
