I'm actually trying that now, but i have a question.

I'm slight OCD and once i have the phone rooted is it safe to uninstall the z4root app or should i keep it on the phone?

I would keep it installed just in case you decide to unroot. There is a button for that in the app after you root.

What he said ^^^. Keep the z4root app, just in case you decide you need to un-root at a later date for whatever reason....
