the update.zip I downloaded is the 1.63mb one I've found here, elsewhare and google.

seems like you dont have the proper maps on your phone. did you change anything??

don't think so. maybe I'll uninstall and reinstall from the market.

I'm unrooted. I tried updating with Mapps Uninstalled, I tried updating with maps reinstalled. I even tried updating with the Maps.apk file deleted from the "patch" directory in update.zip. None of these are working.

hmmm. idk what it could be then. that error message is probably because the one required to update isnt matching yours..

so there were two different Updaters. the second one worked.
