Hello,
Just rooted my Droidx using EasyRoot and after trying to install DX-2313 (w/bootstraps), I was told that I first need to install the update or first 2.2?
I tired to do that (w/ to android system recovery <2e>) but it continually aborts with a error message:
E: Error in /sdcard/update.zip
(status 7)
Installation aborted.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong can anyone help?

Thanks

Where did you get the file from? Since you are using stock recovery you need a signed zip

heres what id suggest to get to 2.2

flash the bootstrap(My Brain Hurts) then clockwork using rom manager.

the 2.2 stock image should be under ROMs in that. you dont need the paid version

no kernels, bootloader is still encrypted

and bootstrap is what deals with the locked bootloader. need it to use clockwork.
it should explain in more detail what it is in that link

Ok so I am now downloading 2.2 from within Rom Manager.
I then need to go to bootstrap or just install?

Or am I reversing this?
