I think i may have screwed up big time guys. I followed a youtube video to the T on how to root my droid. I used rsd lite and sprecovery, waited til it rebooted 100% and now my battery has a slash through it, my phone wont charge, and i have no signal. What can I do to fix the problem? I feel like a real idiot and if i can somehow fix the problem i dont think i'l ever try this again. Please Help Me, I would be so appreciative of your time and suggestions.

Your phone probably isn't finished rooting... It is stuck in the intermediate step.

1. Make sure your ROM is on your sd card (titled update)
2. Turn your phone off
3. Hold x and Power
4. Release Power (still hold x) till boot screen comes up
5. wipe data
6. wipe cache
7. install update.zip

it says installation aborted. didnt work. any other suggestions

Hello, i joined the site a few days ago and followed instructions on rooting phone. Now my phone says it wont charge and i have no service. I used rsd lite and sprecovery, rebooted to 100% and even rebooted manually. I have tried everything i know to do. Is my phone broken for good and if not please can someone tell me how to fix it. I am desperate

You should have made a nandroid backup, just try restoring that.

I didnt do that until i already screwed up. Is there anything I can do

Pretty sure if I was in your situation I'd do this.

I'm fairly new to this, but it seems to me you should always be able to RSD a ESE81 SBF on and then you're back to a stock phone.

it says battery too low and it wont charge. How can i get my phone to charge my battery again. The light is on where my charger goes in but battery wont charge.

My phone won't turn on because the battery is dead. Will not charge

new battery if its not holding a charge

if you have a friend with a droid or go to vzw and see if they let you use a battery to verify that is the problem.

Make sure your update file on the SD card is in the root of the card (/SD). Also make sure it is update.zip and NOT update.zip.zip

OH!! I remember reading a thread somewhere once where somebody had a similar issue ... well kinda; they used their phone until the battery completely drained and then couldn't get it to charge.
Any way, I remember them saying they had to leave it plugged in for several hours. Even though it appeared as if it wasn't charging, after a while it worked.
Don't know if this applies here, but I'm just trying to think of a solution ...
