tried to restore got stuck in bootloop

So i've been having issues with my droid 2 screen freezing on me. When i open the physical keyboard the touch is completely disabled, and then on occasion when the phone wakes up it is frozen and I can't unlock.

I popped into koush's bootstrap recovery to backup and then restore to when I first rooted the phone so I could see if it would do it then and when I rebooted the phone, it didn't restore to the initial root, it booted into Liberty again and got stuck in bootloop.

Where do I go now? I've read a bit that says to sbf it, and a little bit that tells me to boot into stock recovery and do a factory wipe reset. I do not want this phone as a paper weight so I figured it would be best to ask for advice

Current phone specs:
Droid 2
z4rooted
Koush recover
Liberty 1.0 ROM

If you just want the problems you've been having to go away, then just sbf. It won't take long and it will get rid of your problem for sure. Then just root again and go from there.
