Transferring the SD card

Can I transfer my SD card from my old Moto Bionic to Samy Galaxye S4 without loosing data? Will the S4 try to reformat it?

I want to keep pics, ring tones, notification sounds, music etc. Are there any files I should remove first?

You will not lose any data by doing that. So go ahead and put it in your s4. No you dont need to delete anything off the card prior to moving it to the s4.
