so i had the droid 1 (original) and i loved it. worked flawlessly and even got to rooting it with z4root.

upgraded to the droid x..... thats where my problems started.

day one i got a brand new droid x, and right when i left the store to activate it it would not turn on or even charge. so i got a new one the next day which had random restarts and does this in the middle of anything. i told them my issues and got a refurbished phone.....

this "Like New" refurbished phone would turn on and work till i noticed within 5 minutes that it would not hold a charge with any of my power cords

im going to verizon to get another droid x, but should i get a new one? im kinda fed up with these problems but i want a good phone that i payed for and im not getting the promised results.

just wondering if anyone else is having tons of problems with this model of droid

I haven't had a single problem (knock on wood) so far and had it since november last year. Rooted running rubix focused and no problems. Loving it.

whats been wrong with your DX's? and have all the replacements been new/ refurbs?

all were so called "certified" warranty replacements.

1st. non functioning hard buttons.
2nd. 5 reboots aday.
3rd line in middle of screen.
4th no icons or widgets upon power up, laggy screen.
5th fluctuating call volume, laggy screen.

notes from one CS rep that said i could get a new boxed DX or different model (albit "certified") were deleted, and she "no longer works for VRZ".

3 different managers promised to call me back...ten days ago.

its a love/hate thing now for me, thats for sure. love the idea of the phone, hate the carrier's policies.

Purchased X camera button non functional,
rampant frequent reboots.
2 week old replacement
weird screen blemish but only on white backgrounds
multiple random reboots, less frequent, still annoying
wifi dropouts, at numerous locations.
gonna try another reset,
then go for number three.
heard that can be a charm.

This kind of post can be found on every phone forum. Every phone has a few users who'll have nothing but bad things to say about it. :)

Within 30 of purchase, you get a new one. After that they're refurbs. On my 2nd one.

I can't speak for all of them, but from your two descriptions of them not charging, I say replace your cord for it.

And if it didn't turn on or activate in the store, why did they let you go with it?
Why the next day? Did they not have another in stock?

FACT: Refurbs are hardly checked, if at all.

some people will get ones that were never even opened, other will get ones with the same issues the last customer had. only in a new shell.
