Tiny Scratch on Screen

I've never used a case or a screen protector and I've had the phone since the release day. Well yesterday I noticed a tiny "u" shaped scratch on the upper middle section of the screen. No idea how it happened. It's only visible at a certain angle with the screen off. Oh well, guess it was bound to happen eventually.

They sell polishing kits that will allow you to buff out superficial scratches in the glass. I've seen them on cell phone accessory web sites.

I have a few scratches, not many considering the care I take of my phone, no screen protector, no case, I keep it in my pocket with my keys.
Let me know how the buffer you get works and which one it is, was thinking about fixing em but being superficial, I really don't care too much.

The scratch is very faint. I can't even feel a ridge if I slide my fingernail over it. I was debating trying the tiniest bit of toothpaste with a Q-tip. I've heard some people say that isn't a good idea though. I'll let you know how it turns out when I decide on a course of action.

I don't see how you can scratch it unless you got sand or diamonds with you.:)

But I guess it's possible. Mine doesn't have a scratch.

I have a small, faint scratch from November, I was actually waiting for my invisihield to come in and dropped the phone off my lap onto an asphalt parking lot IN THE RAIN. Still a little mad at myself, on top of that it got a couple dings in the metal shell around the screen where you can see a little silver under the paint.

The screens are pretty tough though and you can only see the scratch when the screen is off.

My old one had a scratch from my keys. Luckily for me the power button broke, so they had to send me a replacement. Now I have a screen protector on it. Still no case.

Keys can't scratch it. I can prove that. If you got a scratch it wasn't from keys.

Then maybe it was my keyring. But I know I only keep two things in my pocket ever. and it happened in my pocket because I noticed it soon as it came out. I have seen the youtube vid where the kid goes alll crazy with a key on his. But I know mine had a scratch in it.

I've now got a small scratch too. All I can think of is I somehow got some grit in my pocket. The phone always goes in an empty pocket with no pens, keys, change, etc. I don't even notice it anymore for the most part.

I did try to avoid risky situations for my Droid, yet I was not super careful with it. I remained totally scratch free. About a week or so ago, I wiped off my screen with my sweatshirt, which had graphics screened on it. (it was clean). After I did this, I had a scratch!

Yes, it does take very hard material to scratch them (like sand, etc), but be careful, because the existence of such material my show up where you least expect.

Fortunately, I got a replacement from VZW for other reasons.
