Can you get into the bootloader? If so you might be able to flash SBF files and see if it's software or hardware effing things up.

In a fair amount of cases these problems are caused by moisture entering from the ear piece.

Now you don't think that when I'm on a fire any moisture would get near me do you? Actually I haven't had the phone on a fire in about two weeks.

lol. I was just making a suggestion. Your issue sound a little worse than when its happened to my droid. Good luck...........
