These are just rumors at this point (though we should know pretty soon if they're true), so take them with a grain of salt. But this had to be reported, in case they do turn out to be true, so any of you night owls could jump on this if you so desire.

Android Central and GizmoCrunch are both reporting that at 12:01 AM, Pacific time, 3/19 (i.e. about 15 minutes from now), on letstalk.com, the Thunderbolt will go on sale for $174.99, and is in stock. If it's anything like Amazon, it won't be in stock for long, so if you want it, jump on it.

Based on some initial reports, you also might want to grab an extra battery or extended battery with your purchase!

Edit: confirmed this is now active and is indeed true... here's a "snip" from me doing it just now:

Is the phone just 174 or do I have to sign up for a new 2 year contract? Because 2 months ago I just used my upgrade to get the Droid X and renewed my 2 year contract. Can I still get this phone?

Gotta be a 2-yr contract price (well, and otherwise it would be too good to be true)....They list carrier price as $249, which I think is VZW 2-yr price.

It is for a new contract, or an existing contract with 20 months of the 24 month contract completed.

Well i just went and checked it out and no matter how I tried to purchase the phone, it was $229.99 so they have raised the price from earlier this morning. Sucks too because I was getting ready to purchase at least 1, if not 2 of them at that price.

A coupon code keeps popping up above the forums to get the TB $25 off their price of 199 :icon_eek:

I have been trying to get a thunderbolt for my wife on my second line to replace her og Droid it is within her 20 months. But no matter where I try wirefly, tigerdirect, or Verizon online they all say I have to wait to the exact 24 month mark. I thought you could upgrade after 20 what gives.

9:50PM EDT- LetsTalk.com still has the Thunderbolt for $174.99, provided it's for a new contract, or you have used 20 months of an existing 24 month contract (Personal, or Family plan). But, they are not allowed to show the discounted price until it's in your cart. Click on Click to See Price just across from the Total and you will see $174.99 instead of $229.99.
They will try to hit you up for accessories and 2-day/overnight shipping, but you can opt for the regular shipping and it will still arrive within a couple of business days.

This is infinitely better than Best Buy. At Best Buy you must have used 24 months of your 24 month contract, or purchase a new contract/plan to get the phone for $249.99. If you have only used 20 months of a 24 month contract, the phone is $749.99! I told the Best Buy sales person that was a show stopper for me.
Amazon also has the Thunderbolt for $179.99, but they are back ordered 8-9 days and have no provision for those of us with a Family Plan.

Figured i would give it a shot since im within that 20-24 month period.

Something strange on check out, they wanted 60$ for CA tax :icon_eek::icon_eek::icon_eek:

even at full price of 249 and rounding up to 9% thats no where close to 60$

think i might call them tomorrow.

Uhh it asks to select a data plan.. I already have one... would buying this online give me an additional one? I don't understand how this works. Why does it ask me to select a new plan and data plan when I select upgrade an existing phone? It gives me an estimated $119 on top of my $174 phone?
