Are you all getting notifications? I had a storm roll through here and I got nothin. I re-checked my settings and I don't have an app killer so not sure what's up with it.

Same thing with my sports tap app. My "fav team" option didn't update me on there last game. In fact it's never updated me.

Are others reporting the same thing?

Ya I have been getting weather alerts if that's what you mean.I have not had any problems with WB. I also have never installed an app killer program either.

I have Weather Bug and Advanced App Killer installed. Its set not to kill WB. I dont have it set for audibe notification, but I get the RED Triangle of weather alerts. Ive been happy with the app.

We have a coastal flood watch in effect for the Florida Gulf coast.

I am in the Tampa Bay area. Ruskin FL. In fact, the National weather service station for central Florida is less than a mile from my house. So ANY weather alerts for my area come from that station.

They are talking 1 to 2 feet because of wind. No big deal.

Thanks guys, at this point I shall re-check my settings. If nothing happens after that I'll remove app, and redownload.

I use the weather channel one, works great and it warns me of any warnings or watches. I had WB, but had too many problems with it. It works great on my desktop computer however...

Hey Guys, you get National Weather Service alerts delivered to both WeatherBug Free and Elite apps. I wouldn't recommend using a task killer on our app, just tweak the Preferences to adjust how it runs.

J. Dub, do you know if the storm produced NWS alerts? Sometimes localized storms can pop up that are too small to get their attention. It could also be that our service that checks for active alerts either couldn't connect to our server or the alert had expired by the time it did check.

Email any problems/comments to:
weatherbug.android@gmail.com

Thanks!

Hey Alex, actually I noticed that the only time it DOES (which was today in fact for the first time ever) is when I'm stationary in one city. If I'm traveling through a storm or a storm is heading my way and I'm traveling it doesn't work. However, on weather bugs defense, when I traveled in the past I was using my GPS of google maps... Which Im thinkin may have blocked weather bug from using it's GPS capabilities... Which would explain not getting alerts... I'll keep this thread up as I test around more. Thanks for checkin in!:icon_ banana:

Ah, that explains it.

You can turn on Follow Me in the preferences and it will try and track you using the Update Interval setting. If Follow Me is off you have to run the app to get a new location fix.

Also, multiple apps can get the GPS data at the same time.

Ah, I see said the once blind man.... Playin w/ settings now.
Thank you good sir!
