Does My-Cast Weather run constantly and drain the battery, or does it only run when "updating"?
I am using ADW.Launcher on my new Droid X. I added an app called Fancy Widgets which also has a weather-checker. I have also installed My-Cast Weather. I set the update intervals on both of them to 2 hours.
I noticed the temperature as reported by My-Cast appearing in my notification bar and unable to find a startup option within the My-Cast program (so that I could have it NOT start unless I asked it to), I used Advanced App Killer to, you know, kill it!
To see if opening My-Cast would deposit the temperature numbers on my notification bar, I opened it, checked the weather, and closed the app --and still do not see the temperature number ("40") displayed on the notification bar (<--a good thing)....yet the Droid's Settings/Applications/Running services shows it as running even after killing it a couple of times with App Killer.
After reading this (thank you) and besides uninstalling everything, (lol), what's the best way to configure this stuff so my battery lasts a few minutes longer?
TIA
