I didnt know if I should post this in the droid 2 section or the galaxy tab section...

My phone is the Droid 2. I enable wireless tether. My friends can connect their droid x to the wireless tether and use the internet. But my galaxy tab will not find the wifi network that is coming from my droid 2.

I have looked around...I see some things about ad-hoc networks...replacing the wpa file...but this information is broken up and I really dont want to mess anything up.

Do I need to root my galaxy tab to do this or just my droid 2? do I replace the WPA file on the droid 2 or the galaxy tab?

Or am I making this way too difficult and I need to press the magical on switch on my galaxy tab (yes I have wifi enabled).

thanks in advance dancedroid

Read this thread for answers and solution. It's your tab that has to be modified and yes you will need to root it to do the mod. I've done it on mine and it works just fine. Just rename the extension on the old WPA file, that way if you want to go back, you can.
