Talk to any iPhone user and i can almost guarantee you their phone is jailbroken because that's really the only true way to enjoy their iPhone and be free from the shackles that Apple puts onto their phone.

A coworker of mine just jailbroke her iPhone 3g a week or two ago. I asked her to show me some of the stuff she can do now that she couldn't do before.

I have to say, the jailbroken features were pretty nice.

"Jailbroke", is a dirty word for Apple. If you post anything in their forums about it, they will remove it.

True that!!! The call quality is not as good as other phones... My last was the env touch and it had really clear quality. SEVERAL people have told me I sound muffled. This has come from several people including my bro who is an engineer for Qualcomm.
I went back and replaced the phone and it seemed to help but if you don't have the phone right in front you can get a completly muffled sound to the person on the other end. If you use the speaker mode the voice is much better or if you are on blue tooth it's clearer which blows me away because it's usually the other way around but since the voice dialing is inop on blue tooth it's a feature which can not be used to it's full potential as it should be.
Crazy.... all in all the phone is neat and has neat features but be advised a novelty or toy doesn't make it a high quality performing voice communication device. I've had several things not work on the phone. Locking up... Force closing... GPS incorrect... Lattitude way off on friends gps locations on the google maps program... the compass has to be reset many times to stay accurate. My angle or attitude sensor is incorrect and I have to tap the side of the device to get it to free up and start working. How about this one... after completing a call I bring the phone down and the back light doesn't come on and the phone doesn't disconnect. Trying to turn on the back light with the unlock button brings the light on for only a sec and then it goes out bringing the phone back up and down brings it on for a sec.... finally I get it on and get disconnected... but only after calling the unit a piece of crap....
Oh and I'm not stoned nor do I not love or worship Apple or the I-phone... It is what it is... a neat little google interfacing novelty gaget that kinda works sometimes... especially if you like to play pacman... True That!!!

have you tried entering the hidden menu to change the voice codex I found that helped but I do use bluetooth for almost all calls so not have not heard much complaining there

When and how far back were these problems gathered? I had to replace the first phone. ( random shutdowns ) I've got good voice quality so far. Is it new? Yes
Is it as wonky as WinMo? No
Is it as slow as Blackberry? No

i was having random shut downs for a few days about a week or so ago and they stopped i think the phone might have been getting overheated from me forgetting i had a laptop when i got home lol
