I hate to say it, but I kinda agree with this one:

Not all apps are required to have screenshots. As a result, only about a third of the apps I check out have a screenshot. I'm really taking a leap-of-faith getting an app without even seeing how it looks like.

It's the one thing I miss from the BB Store.

I suppose you're right and this is a valid comment. An easy fix for them to implement...

This guy would rather be kept in the dark about what an app can do instead of being appropriately warned by Android.

In his defense, he did make this list too. He says "The Droid has next year's tech, but lacks Apple's polish." I think that's accurate. It seems unbelievably polished to me since I'm coming from WinMo but compared to an iPhone it is a little less polished. If you're looking for the absolute pinnacle in polish, go iPhone. If you want the best phone (oh and the best network too), get a Droid.

Of course its' going to be less polished. Android is a fairly new OS and 2.0 is new, period. Not only that but Google may be getting ahead of themselves by trying to have 3 seperate OS goingl; 1.6, 2.0, and soon 2.1. Android 1.6 is polished, just check out the Eris. 2.0/2.0.1 still has some work to be done and of course they're also working on 2.1.

Apple has been in the cell phone game for awhile now, so of course they're more polished. Give Google time and the concentration to one OS, they'll be there in no time. Not only that but Droid is expected to land 2.1 as well, which has been said to be better all around. The reviewer may be right about it not being as stable/polished as the iPhone, but he forgets that Google is pretty new the phone world still and only now Android is getting the attention it deserves.

I'm no sackrider either. The iPhone's OS is very nice. I mean they're on top of the smartphone world for a reason. Everything runs smooth and it's very user-friendly, however unlike the Droid, it doesn't allow any freedom. Talk to any iPhone user and i can almost guarantee you their phone is jailbroken because that's really the only true way to enjoy their iPhone and be free from the shackles that Apple puts onto their phone. The iPhone OS is nice and has been around for awhile, and Apple is very good at getting things done right the first time. However, Android isn't very far behind, if you ask me, and plus with all the updates coming you never know what improvements will be made, and from what i've seen from 2.1, it looks damn good.

Let's look at the reasons people are " ga-ga " over the IPhone
1. Marketing, Status Symbol
2. Smooth interface and plays well with other Apple products
3. The apps
That pretty much winds it up.
The Android system will be all that and lots more, with a little more tweeking.
The Droid as a device has the capabilities to take on any phone currently on the market right now.
The Market does need a better structure.
A young concept in many ways that will continue to grow.

IT is not the Droid by Moto that will relegate the iPhone to "toy" status..

IT is the FLOOD of devices and applications that are following. GOOG is HUGE. They will do whatever it takes to make Android the de facto OS... the Apple kids know it and they fell the 80s all over again when a little company called MICROSOFT relegated MAcs to a small niche market.

He states his bias in the first line, "I've had an iPhone for a year and a half and have developed apps for the App Store" Too many people expect the Droid to be a replacement or compete with the iPhone. People need to remember that the Droid has just been release and the iPhone has matured over a couple years. I moved from a Blackberry and had a iPod Touch and like them both. I am very happen with my Droid especially since my family is on Verizon and when and if they get the iPhone I won't make the move. I read all kind of comments from call quality to quality of the Droid and many more. People need to get over it and move on, both phones a great in the own right and meet many different needs for people. The real problem is that AT&T cannot support their user base and data consumption which Apple probably won't tolerate much longer. It doesn't matter how great your phone is if you can't connect...

I agree with you, Google can push the system very far.
Gaming, Music and Entertainment, Computers
Teamed up with Mozilla, and others it could create a very big wave.
There are some pretty bright people out there with ideas, and Android could be the vehicle needed.
Android is like Linux, in that the kernel is there. Now everybody has to learn to play well together.

As a previous Iphone owner and current Droid owner I can honestly say 2/3 of his points were with good merit, the rest of it was biased crap.
