Theme Request.. your request I mean.

I believe if I get done with my list I am going to have to tinker with a couple images and then post screens to see what everyone thinks looks the best for chrome color.


translucent noti bar.. hmm.. that is either going to be real easy or real complicated. I can feel it. You looking to get just the bar itself translucent or are basically try to find a way to make it vanish in its entirety, icons and all?

I was actually going to try making my bar translucent tonight/this weekend. i dont think itll work if you just erase all color from the png, i think you just have to set the opacity to 0

Well, (and this is just my process) the 1st thing I would try is making a completely transparent image that's just blank and trying that. Next I would head into the xml's for the status bar and see about adding a line in for transparecy and then going into colors.xml or drawables.xml (whereever it points to now) and adding a new color that is transparent.

Than again, I've never even looked at it so I'm not even sure how it's setup in there anyway.

or how about a mac os9 theme, since thats what android looks like...with a themed app drawer to match apples old spring loaded folder.

Xkape I'm liking the chrome theme as well with color outlines or detail for different icons and apps. Maybe a chrome blue or red or black theme..maybe the icons could have a steel feel to them

Loving this idea here...different versions (trim colors) of a chromed theme! Can't wait to see what you decide upon and the final product.

And you guys with 2 kids...you have all the time in the world I have 4 kids, ages 3, 5, 7, and 9. To top it off, I'm a Middle School teacher and a High School Football and Baseball coach! Lucky for me I teach a Tech class, so I have an excuse to be on the computer during the day and "testing new technology and ideas" with my phone! dancedroid

I'm trying just editing the png for the status bar now...making backup first (its been a couple days lol)

Edit: So editing the png doesnt seem to work...on the lockscreen its transparent, but when you unlock the phone its just a black bar

glad everyone is loving the chrome idea. hopefully you will pick it to work on. And you can bet ill be a tester if you need one. I wanted to create a chrome theme but i am just now getting into learning how to do it. Alot to learn lol. So if you create this theme ill definately be rocking it.

I like the chrome idea to. You can count me in as a tester. Maybe a gloss black chrome or diamond plate look. I use diamond plate as a tecture under a few wall papers that I have made and I like what it does to enhance the image. If you make this chrome theme I will send you some wallpapers that you can add in with it. I don't have the whole process perfected yet as far as what I do but I would love to at least send stuff your way and see what you think. :blackdroid:

I would like to see a chrome theme. Or silvery kind of theme. Make it look like metal. Then have variations in the text colors. Like silver with blue writing or red or whatever color. I think it would make the Droid look more like the machine it is lol.

No idea how to do this so don't ask..lol BUT, I had a thought for a cool live wallpaper liquid metal could kind of run along the bottom of the noti bar till it got to big to hold on and then drip down to the bottom of the screen and slowly fill up the wallpaper. I dunno, just a thought.

You have to use the Color to Alpha function, and then get the color selection right to match the staus bar's color in order for the color to alpha to actually take...

Here's the transparent status bar in a metamorph.... just install using metamorph and only that will change in your current theme.... 'but' if you are using any theme that uses the -v4 in their drawable folders, then just extract the PNG from my MM zip and install your favorite way...
