The new iPhone will be coming out in a few months and we are already starting to get bits and pieces of intel leaked out about the upcoming device. Today it was reported that the iPhone 8 will feature a curved display made by Samsung, no home button, and get this.... USB Type C! There is only one thing that this phone will be missing, Android! Out of all the leaked features the one feature that really stands out to me is USB Type-C.
Over the years Apple has been this walled off garden. They sell their products for a few hundred dollars more than everyone else, and then expect you to buy their proprietary accessories. All other cell phone manufacturers are going to USB Type-C it only makes sense that Apple do the same. It will be great to have all phones in the house using the same Type-C cables if indeed Apple decides to go against everything they have ever stood for in the past.
