[ROM] The CM7 Gingerbread ROM (CM4D2-GB) is now ready for prime time!

If you're going to restore a Nandroid from CM74D2 that was running on the GB leak kernel, make certain you don't have Jake's v3, V2, or V1 mods on that build...if you restore that you'll get boot loops and have to SBF (ask me how I know ;-)). The OTA GB only works w/Jakes v4 release, which came out after GB OTA was released...

aight cool.
so after OTA, wipe and flash CM7. reboot. no wipe but flash jake mods. reboot... DONE?

install juice defender.
is setting up undervolting difficult?

how about that v6 supercharger stuff. sounded like it really helps with memory management. is that set up in jakes mods or do i have to do that as well?

Yep. I would wipe cache and dalvik cache prior to flashing the jakebitesmod though. Here's a link to the V6 supercharger script. You can access the supercharger script options from the jakebitesmod.

Hey guys, I just registered but have been here almost everyday browsing for a long time now. Anyways, I have the OTA GB installed and I am trying to root via one click root for d3. I watched the videos, installed the drivers etc...First I tried charge mode only, connects, runs exploit and does the first reboot but it reboots my phone to the boot loader. Tried pc mode this time around, same thing, on the reboot it goes into the boot loader. Any ideas? I want cm7 back lol!

I emailed the kid and or his team that made the video to update his vid to include for our device anyway, (I told him my D2) that it won't work in charge only...has to be in PCMode...that's how I did it and not an issue with the root...

Quick question about the V6 if I may. I've loaded the CM74D2 GB, and Jake's Mod, and I understand the V6 is preinstalled in Jake's. I'm not sure where to begin with the V6 instructions to configure it? Any help? Thanks fellas

I can verify his story. I spent 2 hours fixing my own version.

It could have possibly been his phone. I performed the method using the charge only mode with no problem.

I run option 11 and then option 9.

now that Droid 2 GB OTA is out.. what kinds of advantages in terms of customizability (made up word) make CM7 worth it? obviously layout and theme type stuff. will you be getting much better performance than out of the stock rom?

......I kind of mean how do I get to option 11 or 9 :-). I'm confused on how to get the V6 to work....lol

Just read the text in terminal. If you don't understand it, read up on the official v6 thread. Also search youtube to see some good visual fools to help explain it. Otherwise, choose option 9 (my favorite), or leave it alone until you read up on it more :)

Dudes, you have no idea. You can't compare stock motoblur to cm7. You just have to see it for yourself. You can customize virtually anything

Performance and speed are waaaaay better, but don't take my word for it. See for yourself!

Easiest is using Script Manager.

Put script on SD card.
Install Script Manager from market.
Open SM and browse to script file and select it.
Select the "Run as root" option in SM and run script
Use menu to make selections

Option 9 will set appropriate memory settings and OOO groupings, and make your launcher hard to kill...that's what I use.

You'll have to reboot to enable all changes, when you reboot you can run the script again to verify your settings are being held across boots...

Have fun. :)
