Text entry disaster!

I am posting this message by using my voice feature because for some reason all my text features are corrupted. When I text I get some words then the texting stops and takes me back to a non-keyboard screen. Sometimes I have to tilt my screen sideways to read the text that I just entered. I don't know if what I'm saying makes any sense has anyone else had this problem? This issue is really hard to describe it is just messed up.

Gingerbread has a known issue with text entry on the X, there was an update released yesterday that was supposed to fix it

other than that I would say try clearing the cache for whatever keyboard application you use, or maybe even a factory reset

Thanks for the response. I only use every this phone came with for a keyboard application. I'm not sure if there's anything I can reset from here. I also checked for updates and there were none available. It says I already have all the updates.
