Syncing with Google

I've updated my Google contacts and want to sync with my phone but it's not working. I go to apps, my accounts, google and hit menu then sync. It looks like it's working but my contacts aren't updating. I've tried turning the device on and off, but it didn't help.

Mine will do it automatically and almost instantly.
