Sync Question

Does anyone know why when i disable sync on my Incredible my HTC weather widget does not update? I have a Droid X with Beautiful Widgets and i keep background and sync off and it still lets me update set the update frequency in the widget.

I beliebe if you turn off sync (or updating) using the Power Management app, it will stop all updating, including facebook, twitter, etc.

Yes i know. I just want to have my weather and email update every hrs and nothing else. I am able to do this on my droid X with backround data and sync off. However, i cannot do it on my droid Inc. If anyone know why or some work around i would appreicate it.
