I installed Battery Monitor widget on my D3 and its notification appears to be accurate. I am wondering if it is possible to remove the stock battery indicator on the top right corner.

Can someone share ideas as to how to remove it?

Probably have to root your phone in order to do that. Check out XDA

I'm not familiar with the D3 so if someone knows of a better way feel free to post.

The way I would do it is replace the battery icons with transparent ones or with an image (.png) that's the same color as the status bar using metamorph. You need to be rooted and there will be a blank space left where the battery icon used to be.

I know for a fact that CyanogenMod can do that. Not really sure if it's on the D3 yet. I'm using Rev's CM7.1 port, and he added the battery bar at the very top running along the length of the status bar. I can change the color to black and it doesn't show or affect anything else, and it doesn't shift where the status bar sits, either. But you most definitely have to be rooted. Hope this helps.
