Battery/Performance Manager for Droid 3

I successfully used setCPU on my D2G.
After rooting my D3 and installing setCPU I noticed two new scaling options, mot_hotplug and hotplug.
I did some research but did not find anything conclusive about these new scaling options, only some conflicting information.
I created a screen-off profile to use the lowest CPU possible. Scaling left at default of mot_hotplug.
After profile was enabled, phone would not return to normal state. It came back on but screen was blank. Had to remove battery and restart.
Uninstalled setCPU.
Is setCPU compatible with the D3?
Is the current version of smartass governor compatible with the D3?
I'd like to get something going to increase battery life.

Thank you in advance for your help.

I'm no expert here, but from what I can see the mot_hotplug governor will turn off a CPU when needed - ondemand, performance etc. will not.

Save some power by turning off the un-needed CPU

To me, from the name, and my best guess - it's an implementation of a governor designed to turn off cpus on-the-fly ...
