Some numbers won't work on keypad???

I'm having trouble trying to respond to calls where I have to "press 1 for ..., press 2 for..." Most of the time when I press "1", nothing happens. The screen will go black and I end up pressing all over the screen to make it come back on. If I keep pressing and pressing it will usually work but only after I have pressed another number on the pad.

What am I missing?????

Weird. Probably should wipe data and cache to try to resolve issue.
