Software update?

When do we get our software update ? I keep checking and it says no system updates available.

It is seemingly random although I am sure there is some method to it. Like purchase date or something. I received mine a week or so ago. My my just got her update about 30 minutes ago. Running right about through timeline that we purchase our phones.
